For Here, or To Go?

There is no time
For thoughts
That cry to me
To be written down
On a scrap of anything
Passing for a notebook
Or a fast food sales receipt
Begging for a deep sigh
That never expels
The thoughts
That are now overcooked
Like a bad meal
On the go
Burnt to a crisp
Waiting for that day
To arrive when there will
Be time to simmer some
Home-cooked
Words

  1. Really like this Denise, it echoes my feelings about doing the April poem a day thing. I feel like I'm running and haven't left home for a minute. And the prompts do sometimes make you feel like your dealing with a to-go dinner, or more appropriately, breakfast. Thanks for stopping by,

    1. Elizabeth,it is so ironic that during poetry month,it is difficult to scrape together moments to write poetry.Be healthy and Bon Appetit!
